Fall Back, Embrace Challenges, and Practice Gratitude (3 of 4) | Pursue Curiosity

So, how do we help ourselves when we feel like we are falling back, falling short? I like to think about the idea of perseverance. Perseverance is the determination to pursue a goal or path in the face of problems, struggles, resistance, obstacles or discouragement. It’s about refusing to give up – think determination, tenacious, dogged, untiring, diligent, and devoted. (https://evolveinc.io/quotes/quotes-about-perseverance/).

And all those words DON’T mean we don’t get tired, discouraged, scared and WANT to give up or give in. They mean we still keep on despite those feelings.

Confucius said, “The [person] who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.” So, each day we can think about what small stone we might be able to carry away today – one assumption about others, one stereotype, one limiting belief about myself, one new listening approach, one new way of creating a sense of belonging and inclusion for someone else.

And how can we cultivate an attitude of gratitude during challenging times – whether for ourselves or for those close to us?
